About The Role

The Senior Manager Premier Events sits within the Experience Melbourne Branch and offers an exciting opportunity to lead the delivery of some of Melbourne’s most iconic and high-profile events.

You’ll lead the end-to-end delivery of one or more major events, including New Year’s Eve, Firelight Festival, Melbourne Fashion Week, Moomba Festival, Christmas and Now or Never, overseeing everything from creative production through to operational delivery and stakeholder engagement.

Working at a senior level, you will provide strategic direction, manage large-scale budgets and lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, innovative and high-quality events that create meaningful impact for the community.

A Little More About The Role

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of major city events, including strategy, planning, production, operations and evaluation
  • Provide strong people leadership, coaching and direction to a high-performing events team
  • Manage complex stakeholder relationships across Council, government, contractors and industry partners
  • Oversee budgets, contracts, risk management and governance to ensure safe, compliant and successful event delivery
  • Lead the planning and delivery of crowd, safety and emergency management strategies, public transport integration and regulatory compliance across events

  • Proven ability to manage risk, compliance and operational delivery at scale
  • Experience working in politically sensitive or complex stakeholder environments
