You'll join a collaborative planning culture, where the 5/6 team works closely together (three classes functioning as a team) to support consistency and student progress. Teaching at the school is supported through the use of Ochre units for explicit teaching, with strong resources already in place to strengthen morphology, explicit instruction, and phonics.
About the Role
In this 5/6 role, you'll be responsible for delivering consistent, engaging instruction across an upper primary cohort, contributing to a team-based structure where planning and practices are shared. The school is seeking a teacher who can confidently manage the classroom while using systematic approaches to build strong literacy foundations. You'll step into a setting where resources and teaching structures are already established, and where staff retention is high-reflecting a positive, stable school culture.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver explicit literacy instruction, including phonics-based teaching and strong literacy foundations
- Maintain consistent, proactive classroom management that supports a positive learning environment
- Plan and deliver learning aligned to school teaching structures, including the use of Ochre units
- Collaborate with the 5/6 team to support student outcomes
- Assess student progress and adjust teaching practices to meet learning needs
- Build strong relationships with students and support a culture of engagement and respect
You Will Have
- Current or pending VIT registration
- Confident, proactive classroom management skills
- 2+ years teaching experience
- Experience and/or strong capability with literacy instruction (including phonics)
- A genuine, enthusiastic approach to teaching
