About the role

As the Accounting Support Manager, you’ll play a key role in ensuring Beyond Blue’s financial operations run smoothly, accurately and on time. Sitting within the Finance and Commercial team, this role oversees day‑to‑day accounting activities across accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management and general ledger support.

You’ll work independently across moderately complex tasks and projects, helping to strengthen internal controls, streamline processes and support high‑quality financial reporting. • Working independently to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines and deliver consistent service standards.
  • Identifying issues, analysing root causes and recommending or implementing improvements to systems, processes and controls.
  • Reviewing reconciliations, exceptions and stakeholder queries, resolving issues using sound judgement and escalating complex matters when needed.
  • Supporting the Head of Finance and Commercial with reporting timetables, process reviews, system settings and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Managing relationships with key suppliers and finance‑related service providers, including oversight of transactions, reconciliations and issue resolution.
  • Providing day‑to‑day guidance and support to junior team members, including the Accounts Payable Officer, to build capability and maintain high service quality.
  • Ensuring audit‑ready documentation, strong internal controls and compliance with policies and procedures.

Your work will directly contribute to improved financial governance, earlier decision‑making, simpler processes, stronger partnerships and reduced organisational risk.

  • Experience improving systems, processes and controls to enhance efficiency, accuracy and compliance.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, particularly in reconciliations and exception management.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain finance information clearly and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • A solid understanding of accounting principles, internal controls and audit requirements.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and confidence using finance systems and related platforms.
