Senior Consultant – Internal Audit & Risk Advisory

The OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to join a growing Internal Audit & Risk Advisory team. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex internal audit engagements, work closely with senior client stakeholders, and contribute to the continued growth of a high-performing practice.

You will play a key role in delivering risk and assurance projects across a diverse client portfolio while mentoring junior team members and supporting business development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Internal Audit Delivery

  • Lead and deliver internal audit and risk assurance engagements across a range of industries and sectors
  • Plan, execute, and report on internal audit assignments in accordance with professional standards and firm methodologies
  • Identify control gaps, process improvement opportunities, and emerging risks
  • Develop practical, value-adding recommendations to enhance governance and control environments
  • Prepare high-quality audit reports and present findings to senior management and audit committees

Risk, Governance & Controls

  • Assess governance frameworks, risk management processes, and internal control environments
  • Support internal audit outsourcing and co-sourcing arrangements
  • Contribute to the development of risk-based internal audit plans and enterprise risk assessments
  • Provide insights on emerging risks, regulatory developments, and industry best practices
  • Assist clients in strengthening risk and compliance frameworks

Team Leadership & Development

  • Manage, coach, and develop Consultants, Analysts, and junior team members
  • Allocate work, monitor project progress, and ensure delivery against deadlines
  • Provide constructive feedback and support performance development
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture

Business Development & Practice Growth

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities to expand service offerings within existing client portfolios
  • Support proposal development, tenders, and client presentations
  • Contribute to thought leadership, methodology enhancements, and service innovation initiatives

Skills & Experience

Technical Capabilities

  • 4+ years' experience in Internal Audit, Risk Advisory, External Audit, or Controls Assurance within a professional services environment
  • Strong understanding of governance, risk management, and internal control frameworks
  • Knowledge of IIA Standards, COSO, and risk-based auditing methodologies
  • Experience managing audit engagements from planning through to reporting
  • Excellent report writing, analytical, and presentation skills
  • Relevant qualifications such as CA, CPA, CIA, CISA, or equivalent will be highly regarded

  • Proven ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities
  • Strong stakeholder management and client relationship skills
  • Confident communicator with the ability to engage senior executives and boards
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and mentoring capability
  • Commercially minded with a strong client-focused approach
