The Organisation

For more than 30 years Healthway has been providing grant funding to sport, arts and racing organisations, community activities, and to health promotion projects and research. Healthway’s vision is for a ‘healthy and more active Western Australia’ and is the only State Government agency dedicated to health promotion.

Lotterywest is the employing agency for Healthway and is the only State Government owned and operated lottery in Australia, where all the available profit is returned to Western Australians through community and statutory grants. Lotterywest has supported the Western Australian community for over 90 years. Its vision is to ‘build a better Western Australia together’.

About the job

Two (2) opportunities are available for immediate filling:

1x Permanent Full Time and,

1x 12 month Fixed Term Full Time with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.

In this role, you will partner with stakeholders to coordinate the administration, assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of health promotion projects and funding initiatives.

Applying your knowledge and expertise in Health Promotion, work with stakeholders to achieve community outcomes relating to funding initiatives, submission and applications.

The role has the following key areas of focus:

  • Guide and lead potential grant applicants in the development and completion of applications in line with Healthway's strategic direction
  • Administer and implement health promotion projects to achieve health outcomes
  • Build and maintain effective relationships to maximise the benefit of Healthway's funds for the WA community.

We’re looking for

  • A passionate Health Promotion practitioner with experience in developing and implementing evidence-based health promotion strategies
  • Collaborators who are able to work with various stakeholders in different community, government and public settings
  • Someone with experience in leading, collaborating and facilitating partnerships
  • Required Qualification: Tertiary Qualification in Health Promotion or health-related/behavioural science or 2+ years experience in a similar role

  3. Demonstrated experience in contemporary grant making/funding programs or a related field, to achieve positive community outcomes.
  4. Demonstrated well-developed oral and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to negotiate and gain cooperation with stakeholders.
  5. Well-developed writing skills, with demonstrated experience in preparing reports and briefings.
