Electrical Project Engineer

We are currently seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to support a portfolio of Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) sustaining capital projects within a large-scale mining operation.

This opportunity is ideally suited to an early to mid-career engineer looking to gain further exposure to client-side project delivery while working across a diverse range of mining infrastructure projects.

The Opportunity

Working within a Sustaining Capital Projects team, you will support the planning, coordination and delivery of multiple infrastructure projects across an operational mining environment.

You will work closely with project managers, contractors, consultants and site stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule and in accordance with project governance requirements.

This role offers excellent professional development opportunities and exposure to a broad range of infrastructure and facilities projects.

Projects May Include

• Village accommodation and facilities upgrades
• Water treatment plant upgrades
• Sewage treatment plant upgrades
• Fuel farm infrastructure projects
• Warehouse construction projects
• General sustaining capital and non-process infrastructure works

Key Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of electrical and infrastructure projects from concept through to completion
• Coordinate contractors, consultants and engineering service providers
• Review technical documentation, designs and scopes of work
• Assist with project planning, scheduling, reporting and cost control
• Manage project governance and approval requirements
• Monitor project risks, issues and progress against schedule
• Liaise with operational stakeholders to ensure successful project execution
• Ensure compliance with site safety, quality and engineering standards

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering
• 3-5 years' electrical engineering or design experience
• Experience supporting projects within mining, resources or heavy industry
• Exposure to at least 2-3 mine site-based projects
• Experience working within tier-one client-side project environments highly regarded
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and project interfaces
• A proactive attitude with a strong desire to learn and develop professionally
