With a focus on creating long-term value through strategic transactions and project development, the organisation is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to provide technical accounting leadership during a key business combination project.

Job Description

• Lead and manage the accounting assessment for a business combination.
• Apply AASB 3 / IFRS 3 Business Combinations accounting requirements.
• Identify, assess and determine the fair value of acquired assets and assumed liabilities.
• Review and document complex accounting treatments and technical accounting positions.
• Provide accounting guidance and support to key stakeholders.
• Liaise with external advisors, auditors and valuation specialists where required.
• Ensure robust documentation is maintained to support accounting conclusions and audit requirements.
• Support corporate reporting and compliance obligations.

The Successful Applicant

To Be Successful, You Will Demonstrate

• Proven experience in a Financial Controller, Group Accountant, Technical Accountant or similar senior finance position.
• Strong hands-on experience with IFRS 3 / AASB 3 Business Combinations.
• Deep understanding of acquisition accounting and fair value assessments.
• Strong technical accounting capability and the ability to interpret complex accounting standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• The ability to exercise sound professional judgement in complex situations.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to work independently.
