About the role

The Events Marketing Coordinator sits within the Customer Experience & Communications Division and offers an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of high-profile, city-shaping events. This role plays a key part in delivering impactful outcomes for our community and supporting the strategic goals of the City of Melbourne, helping position Melbourne as Australia’s events capital and a leading global destination.

Working as part of a collaborative and high-performing team, you’ll contribute to the planning and delivery of fully integrated marketing campaigns across major Premier Events including Melbourne Fashion Week, Moomba Festival, New Year’s Eve and Now or Never.

In this role, you will provide high level coordination for a wide range of marketing and communications projects and general team assistance to the larger Marketing team. The team has three Marketing Coordinators. Whilst this role aims to support general marketing and communications functions, it will primarily support the brand and marketing campaigns including signage, onsite branding and managing photography/videography teams.

A little more about the role

  • Support the planning and delivery of integrated marketing campaigns across major city events
  • Coordinate marketing projects including creative briefs, asset production, and agency liaison
  • Develop and publish content across digital channels, including social media and websites
  • Manage and coordinate on site signage and branding requirements
  • Provide onsite marketing support during events and contribute to post-event reporting and insights

About you

You are a passionate and creative marketer who thrives in a fast-paced, event-driven environment. You bring strong coordination skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset to everything you do.

What your experience might look like

  • Experience in marketing and communications, ideally within events or a related industry
  • Strong project management skills and experience in managing 3rd party agencies/contractors
  • Understanding of digital, social and traditional media landscapes
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including content creation
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams in a dynamic environment
