Lead Data Scientist

This is a genuine leadership opportunity where you'll influence strategy, develop your team and deliver advanced analytical solutions that have a direct impact on customer engagement and commercial performance. You'll work across a variety of initiatives, helping the business better understand customer behaviour, uncover new opportunities and build intelligent products that deliver personalised experiences across different customer segments.

You'll be balancing leadership, stakeholder engagement and technical direction while ensuring your team delivers high-quality analytical outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include

• Leading and mentoring a team of Data Scientists, creating an environment where people can develop and do their best work.
• Working with business leaders to identify opportunities where data science and AI can improve customer outcomes and business performance.
• Developing predictive models, customer segmentation strategies and recommendation engines that support more personalised customer experiences.
• Guiding the design of scalable machine learning solutions and ensuring they are practical, reliable and fit for business use.
• Helping establish frameworks, standards and ways of working that improve the quality and consistency of data science delivery.
• Partnering with technology and data engineering teams to ensure analytical solutions are successfully embedded into business operations.
• Presenting insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders, translating complex analytics into clear business value.

You'll ideally bring

• Previous experience leading or mentoring Data Scientists within a commercial environment.
• Strong knowledge of machine learning, predictive analytics and statistical modelling.
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to link technical solutions with business outcomes
• Experience building customer segmentation, personalisation or recommendation solutions.
• A strong programming background using Python or similar technologies, with experience working across modern cloud data platforms.
• The ability to influence senior stakeholders and confidently communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• A collaborative leadership style and a passion for helping others grow.

This role is working within a collaborative team and offer a hybrid working model of 3 days in the office.
