Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Dietitian to join the Dietetics Department.

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist,communityand home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburnand Mernda Community HospitalsCentresand Kilmore District Hospital.In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park,Merndaand Coburg.

About the Role

The grade 1 Dietitian, with the support of supervising dietitians, will be accountable for providing quality client care through the application of competent clinical skills in assessment, planning, and implementation of treatment, and management of nutrition issues.

This role will be required to assist with covering predominantly acute adult inpatients at Northern Hospital - Epping.

This role contributes to providing high quality service through active participation in the Dietetics Department Work Plan and the Northern Health Supervision model

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experiencein the area ofadult nutrition
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills thatfacilitatean ability to work
  • An ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and provide staff/ community education
  • Demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Competent computer skills particularly in word processing and Internet use, and the ability to learn dedicated software
  • Understanding of the cultural diversity of the community
  • Current Victorian Driver License
