About the firm and the role

Our client, a leading national law firm, is seeking an experienced front-end restructuring lawyer (5+ PQE) to join its highly regarded Finance practice in Melbourne. This is an excellent opportunity to specialise in front-end restructuring and turnaround work while advising on some of Australia's most significant and complex transactions.

Working alongside highly respected partners, you will advise a range of clients including corporates, private equity and special situations funds, lenders, borrowers, private businesses and family offices. The practice is recognised for its involvement in sophisticated restructuring, refinancing and recapitalisation matters across a broad range of industries.

This position sits within a transactional Banking & Finance team, focused on front-end restructuring, corporate finance and strategic advisory work. You will be involved in complex restructuring and workout transactions, distressed acquisitions, refinancing arrangements and rescue financings, while also advising on broader corporate and commercial transactions where required.

About you

• Australian qualified
• 5+ years' post-qualification experience at a leading private practice law firm
• Strong front-end restructuring and banking & finance experience.
• Broader banking lawyers who might have touched on restructuring work welcome
• Strong drafting and negotiation ability in restructuring documentations
• Excellent academic credentials
