TPMO Governance Lead

Banyule City Council is embarking on a significant organisation-wide transformation that will reshape how it delivers services to the community.

Over the next four years, they're redesigning their operating model, modernising core business systems, implementing Microsoft Dynamics, establishing a new data platform, transforming records management and embedding new ways of working across the organisation.

To support this journey, they're seeking a TPMO Governance Lead to establish and drive governance excellence across their Business Transformation Program.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Portfolio Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in providing governance, assurance, reporting and portfolio analysis across a portfolio of concurrent transformation initiatives.

Working closely with the Program Director, Enterprise PMO, Project Managers and Executive stakeholders, you'll ensure decision-makers have clear, reliable and timely information to manage risk, prioritise investment and drive successful delivery.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building capability, not simply maintaining it, and wants to leave a lasting legacy within a growing Transformation Office.

This is a 3-4 year fixed-term contract, based in the North-Eastern suburbs (hybrid working - 3 days onsite).

Key Responsibilities

• Lead governance, reporting and portfolio oversight across a complex transformation program
• Coordinate integrated program schedules, milestones, dependencies and governance cycles across multiple projects
• Develop executive dashboards, governance packs, briefing papers and portfolio reporting for senior leadership and steering committees
• Maintain portfolio-level RAID registers, decision logs, benefits registers and governance artefacts
• Analyse program performance, delivery risks, resource pressures and dependencies, providing practical recommendations to support informed decision-making
• Work closely with Project Managers and business leaders to improve reporting quality, governance maturity and data integrity
• Drive continuous improvement across PMO processes, reporting standards, assurance practices and governance frameworks
• Partner with delivery teams, vendors and senior stakeholders to strengthen transparency, accountability and delivery confidence

About You

You enjoy bringing structure, clarity and insight to complex and fast-paced transformation environments.

You'll bring

• Demonstrated experience working within enterprise PMOs, Transformation Offices or portfolio governance functions supporting large-scale transformation programs
• Strong experience preparing executive reporting, governance packs, dashboards and portfolio insights for senior leadership
• Expertise managing integrated schedules, RAID management, dependency mapping, milestone tracking and governance reporting
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, risks and practical recommendations from complex delivery information
• Experience establishing or improving PMO frameworks, reporting standards and governance processes
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively and influence senior leaders
• A proactive, adaptable approach and the ability to thrive in an evolving environment where not everything has been built yet
