Tax Lawyer

We are working with a top-tier Australian Law firm who are seeking an Associate Solicitor to join their Tax team within their Melbourne office.

The Role

The successful candidate will join a nationally ranked Tax team, advising a range of domestic and international clients in high-value, complex tax disputes and advisory work. The candidate will advise clients with expert tax guidance, as well as resolving their disputes (including transfer pricing) and working on matters such as TO engagement, alternative dispute resolution, mutual agreement procedures or litigation in court.

This role offers the opportunity to work on tax issues across nationally significant transactions and projects within a range of sectors, including energy and technology. The candidate will also have the opportunity to work with leading members of the tax bar to manage high-value disputes for clients.

Essential Criteria

• 2+ PQE;
• Strong background in corporate tax advisory and transactional work and/or tax controversy within a medium to large private practice (legal or accounting firm);
• Excellent commercial awareness;
• Outstanding academics;
• Technically excellent;
• Negotiation skills;
• Ability to work independently and as a team.
