About the role
We're looking for an experienced and proactive Practice Assistant to join our Perth Construction Litigation team, supporting Partner Juliana Jorissen and her friendly team.
You'll play a pivotal role in supporting the day-to-day operation of the practice, with a particular focus on complex billing, document management, client service and matter coordination.
The team values someone who can anticipate the needs of senior lawyers, stay one step ahead and deliver seamless support.
Key responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include, but won't be limited to:
- Managing complex billing processes, including bill preparation, WIP management, reporting and client billing requirements
- Coordinating the preparation, formatting and management of complex legal documents, reports and correspondence
- Maintaining document control and ensuring the accuracy of amendments and document versions
- Preparing document bundles and supporting the delivery of client-facing materials and presentations
- Developing and maintaining spreadsheets, tracking tools and reports to support matter management
- Opening and closing matters, maintaining records and ensuring data integrity across firm systems
- Coordinating meetings and travel arrangements
- Assisting with business development activities, client events and pitch materials
- Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and delivering a high level of client service
About You
- A minimum of five years' experience in a legal support role such as Legal Assistant, Practice Assistant, Legal Secretary or Legal Executive
- Demonstrated experience supporting multiple senior stakeholders in a busy legal environment
- Strong knowledge of legal billing processes, with experience using Elite highly regarded
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- The ability to analyse information, exercise sound judgement and solve problems effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to build strong working relationships across all levels
- Experience supporting matter management, court administration or document preparation will be highly regarded
- Previous paralegal experience is advantageous but not essential
