Your new company
We are currently partnering with a global leader in energy management and automation to recruit a Tendering Engineer to join their expanding Global Services team. This is an initial 6-month contract, with strong potential for extension, and is based in Melbourne with flexible hybrid working arrangements.
Reporting to a global leadership team, this role will see you take ownership of end-to-end tendering and quotation preparation across a diverse portfolio of exciting projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to mission-critical projects within the electrical distribution space, supporting a rapidly growing customer base, while playing a key role in the ongoing energy transition.
Your new role
You will be responsible for:
- Review customer RFQs, specifications and tender documentation for field service activities
- Identify cost-effective, technically compliant solutions to meet client requirements
- Collaborate with both local and international stakeholders on bid development
- Engage with customers to leverage technical expertise and shape optimal solutions
- Prepare tender submissions including technical compliance, risk assessments and approvals
- Develop detailed costings and ensure margin targets are achieved
- Produce quotations within agreed timeframes, defining clear technical solutions and mitigating risks
- Support ongoing business growth initiatives aligned with company strategy
- Manage handover of successful tenders to project execution teams
- Participate in occasional domestic travel as required
What you'll need to succeed
- Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering (Degree or Diploma)
- Demonstrated experience in tendering, bid preparation and quotation development
- Strong ability to interpret technical specifications, contract terms and commercial requirements
- Experience across LV and MV electrical distribution systems, ideally including installation and testing
- Exposure to protection relays, switchgears, transformers, protection relays etc.
- Familiarity with major OEM products and service offerings within the electrical space is advantageous.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with a collaborative approach
