Senior Mining Engineer (Consulting)

Austcorp Executive is exclusively partnering with a National Mining Consultancy to recruit a Senior Mining Engineer (Consulting) – we are looking for both underground and open pit mining engineers. Our client is a global technical mining consultancy with multi-commodity expertise spanning both open pit and underground operations. Their capabilities extend across the full mine lifecycle – from early-stage studies and project management through to operational readiness, operational support and governance.

Technical Delivery – Open Pit

• Pit optimisation, design and scheduling using industry-standard software (e.g. Whittle, Deswik, MineSched, Vulcan, or Surpac)
• Develop and validate mining cut-offs, pit shells and staged pushback strategies to maximise project value
• Prepare and review short, medium and long-term production schedules that align with resource models and geotechnical constraints
• Provide input into waste dump design, haul road planning and equipment selection studies

Technical Delivery – Underground

• Underground mine design, optimisation and scheduling across a range of mining methods (long hole open stoping, sublevel caving, cut and fill, decline and shaft access)
• Development of stope designs, ventilation and materials handling considerations, and production sequencing
• Support mine planning through geotechnical, dewatering and infrastructure integration

Cross-Discipline/LOM Planning

• Life of Mine (LOM) planning – development and maintenance of short, medium and long-term mining plans
• Support studies across the full mine lifecycle: scoping, PFS, DFS and feasibility-level work, through to operational readiness and production support
• Prepare and contribute to technical reports, including input toward Competent Person / JORC-compliant documentation
