We are currently partnered with a well-known mining company to recruit an Open Pit Geotechnical Engineer. This is a great opportunity to progress your career with a respected player in the mining industry.

Role Details

  • Immediate start
  • 6+ month contract possibility to go fulltime
  • 8/6 roster | 10-hour days
  • DIDO Boddington (must stay onsite during roster; only locals can DIDO daily)
  • Competitive day rate | Weekly pay

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advice on operations related to pit development and pit wall scaling activities
  • Conduct daily open pit inspections and waste dump inspections
  • Contribute to evaluating and implementing changes to design and work procedures within the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle
  • Implement geotechnical and technical standards, ensuring compliance across all outputs
  • Carry out office-based geotechnical tasks as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, or Geology with postgraduate qualifications in Geomechanics
  • Proficiency with 3D modelling software (e.g., GEM4D, Minesight, Vulcan, Deswik)
  • Experience using geotechnical software (e.g., Rocscience Suite, Trajec3D)
  • Ideally 5+ years' experience as an Open Pit Geotechnical Engineer, including exposure to slope stability radars
  • Must have Australian Driver's License/Vehicle
