The Position
This impactful executive role provides leadership to a division with a mandate across strategic intelligence, prevention policy, research, reviews, communication and stakeholder engagement to identify corruption risks, inform organisational priorities, and drive system-wide improvements. It also delivers education and guidance to the public sector, police and community, providing advice that strengthens practices, systems and culture.
This is a significant enterprise leadership role that collaborates with IBAC’s Executive team to ensure effective fulfilment of the organisation’s legislated functions and the IBAC Strategic Plan. The role requires exceptional judgement and insight to be a trusted advisor to the CEO, Commissioner and Deputy Commissioners and to contribute to building public trust and confidence in the integrity system.
The successful candidate will be a values-led, action-oriented executive who develops positive team culture, leads strategically, and displays outstanding relationship building skills. Strategic understanding of policy, regulatory, and legislative processes gained through significant experience in public or relevant private sector senior management is sought.
The Organisation
The Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission (IBAC) is responsible for preventing and exposing public sector corruption and police misconduct in Victoria. This covers state and local government, police, parliament the judiciary (for example, judges and the courts). IBAC fulfils this role by:
- receiving complaints and notifications of public sector corruption and police misconduct
- investigating and exposing serious corruption and police misconduct
- raising awareness of the risks and impacts of corruption and police misconduct, and how to prevent it.
