About The Role
Perth Airport is looking for a Design Coordinator to join us on a 12 month fixed term contract to support and coordinate design processes across a range of project types throughout their lifecycle. Reporting to the Senior Design Manager or Design Manager, this role will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to help ensure projects are aligned with Perth Airport’s Master Plan, strategic objectives, technical requirements and regulatory standards.
You will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:
- Support and coordinate the design of capital portfolio projects across multiple areas of IMT.
- Assist with technical aspects of the design process in line with the Quality Management System, including scope management, schedule inputs, design efficiency, cost-effectiveness and adherence to applicable design and technical requirements.
- Support and participate in technical reviews of design documentation developed by external consultants and contractors, ensuring outcomes are appropriate, economical and aligned with approved Master Plans and business strategies.
- Coordinate design inputs and reviews with key internal and external stakeholders, including designers, suppliers, project teams and relevant third parties.
- Work collaboratively with the Design Manager, Project Manager and wider project team to support technical integration and project delivery.
- Assist with requirements management, design verification, technical risk management, sustainability objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the project team by helping coordinate specialist advice, resolve technical queries, contribute to cost planning and complete design performance reporting.
- Maintain broad knowledge of organisational policies, procedures and relevant regulatory codes to support operational compliance and effective project outcomes.
About You
You will bring relevant experience in design coordination, engineering, architecture, project management or a related field, with the ability to work effectively across complex project environments. Collaborative and organised, you will be confident engaging with stakeholders, coordinating information and contributing to high-quality project outcomes.
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have
- A bachelor’s degree, or international equivalent, in engineering, architecture or project management, with 3-6 years of relevant experience in building, terminal, commercial development and/or infrastructure projects.
- Experience working within project environments, with knowledge of procedures, design guides, application programs and administrative practices used on major projects in the Australian construction industry.
- Ability to influence and engage in a collaborative working environment with internal and external stakeholders while maintaining appropriate commercial awareness.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to produce clear technical documentation.
- Ability to plan and prioritise work, manage complexity, solve problems and contribute to efficient, effective work processes.
- A commitment to accountability, safety, customer focus, continuous improvement and delivering meaningful results.
- Basic proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Bentley MicroStation, AutoCAD and other relevant discipline-specific software would be desirable.
