About The Role

Perth Airport is seeking an experienced

Manager Approvals to lead the coordination and delivery of statutory approvals across the estate. Working within the Planning and Design team, this role is central to enabling major development and long-term planning objectives by ensuring approvals are delivered efficiently, compliantly and in line with project timeframes.

Reporting to the Head of Strategic and Statutory Planning, you will lead the approvals function, manage regulatory engagement and provide strategic advice on approvals pathways, risks and requirements. You will work closely with internal project, planning, environment, heritage and property teams, as well as government departments, regulatory agencies and specialist consultants.

Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead end-to-end statutory approvals processes, including Major Development Plans, EPBC Act referrals and Environmental Impact Assessments.
  • Develop and implement approvals strategies that support development sequencing and reduce project risk.
  • Coordinate technical inputs and oversee the preparation of high-quality approvals documentation.
  • Engage with Commonwealth, State and local government regulators to support timely and compliant approvals outcomes.
  • Maintain approvals registers, track obligations and ensure approval conditions are clearly communicated to project delivery teams.
  • Act as a key interface between planning, projects, environment, heritage and other stakeholders to align approvals requirements with delivery needs.
  • Lead, support and build capability within the approvals team, driving accountability and continuous improvement.

About You

You are a confident approval professional with strong statutory; environmental and stakeholder management experience gained in a complex infrastructure, aviation or development environment. You combine technical knowledge with sound judgement, strong communication skills and the ability to influence across diverse stakeholder groups.

With a collaborative leadership style, you are comfortable managing competing priorities, navigating regulatory requirements and supporting teams to deliver outcomes in a fast-paced project environment.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have

  • A tertiary qualification in planning, environmental science, engineering or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience managing statutory approvals processes within infrastructure, aviation, development or a similarly complex environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the Airports Act, EPBC Act and relevant State environmental and planning legislation.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating Environmental Impact Assessment processes and technical studies.
  • Proven ability to engage with regulators, consultants and internal stakeholders to achieve practical approvals outcomes.
  • Strong analytical, written communication and situational assessment skills, with the ability to provide clear and strategic advice.
  • Experience leading teams, building capability and driving performance, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • A collaborative, resilient and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project deadlines.
