PL/SQL (Oracle Database) Developer

Melbourne | 6 - month rolling contract

We're seeking an experienced PL/SQL Developer with exposure to Delphi to join a major systems uplift program. This role will focus on enhancing and modernising critical business applications, improving database performance, and supporting the transition of legacy platforms into a more scalable and maintainable environment.

Working within a collaborative project team, you'll play a key role in analysing existing systems, delivering enhancements, and ensuring business continuity throughout the transformation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance and maintain Oracle PL/SQL code, including packages, procedures, functions and triggers.
• Analyse and improve existing database structures, queries and application performance.
• Support the uplift and modernisation of legacy Delphi applications.
• Refactor and optimise existing code to improve maintainability and performance.
• Investigate and resolve production issues throughout the uplift program.
• Contribute to technical documentation, code reviews and development standards.
• Assist with knowledge transfer and support transition activities as legacy systems evolve.

Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial experience developing with Oracle PL/SQL.
• Advanced SQL development and database optimisation skills.
• Experience maintaining or enhancing Delphi applications is a plus
• Experience with source control tools such as Git or Azure DevOps.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Desirable

• Experience with Oracle Forms or Reports.
• Exposure to API integrations and modern integration patterns.
