About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated

Maintenance Fitter to join the team at our Hope Valley animal feed mill.

This role runs on a rotating shift roster comprising of 3 weeks of day shifts (6 AM – 2 PM) and 1 week of afternoon shifts (2 PM – 10PM). There is a requirement to be on call 1 week per month.

You will be working at a modern, highly advanced site. Day-to-day maintenance is preventative work rather than reactive repairs.

Main responsibilities of this role include:

  • Scheduled and preventative maintenance on feed milling equipment (FMCG environment)
  • Collaborate with Production functions to schedule maintenance work for optimal customer outcomes
  • Conduct plant and workshop inspections in line with approved safety, hazard, and hygiene practices
  • Complete maintenance records and documentation promptly and accurately
  • Identify and escalate issues promptly to the manager for effective solutions
  • Optimise interfaces between different work areas
  • Continually seek improvements across maintenance activities

About You

As an experienced and professional Maintenance Fitter, we are looking for the following qualities:

  • Relevant trade qualification required (e.g. Mechanical Fitter & Turner)
  • Extensive fault-finding and problem-solving expertise
  • Strong computer literacy skills
  • Ability to handle difficult problems with a logical and systematic approach
  • Good understanding of and commitment to health and safety work practices
  • Restricted Electrical Licence is desirable (manufacturing equipment)
  • Prior maintenance experience in the Feed or Food manufacturing sector is desirable (FMCG)
