Software Manager

About the Role

An exciting opportunity is available for a Software Manager – Embedded & Applications Engineering to join an established Perth-based technology company.

You'll lead a team of approximately 8–10 software engineers and testers across embedded systems, desktop applications and cloud platforms. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll drive engineering standards, modernise development processes, mentor engineers, improve delivery capability, and provide technical oversight across a mix of legacy and modern software products.

You Should Have

• 12+ years' commercial software engineering experience
• Previous experience leading software engineering teams
• Strong commercial experience with C++ and C
• Experience across Windows and Linux environments
• Strong understanding of software delivery and engineering processes
• Experience driving engineering modernisation or process improvement
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of approximately 8–10 engineers and testers
• Drive engineering process and tooling improvements
• Conduct code reviews and provide technical oversight
• Remove technical delivery roadblocks
• Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritise engineering outcomes
• Improve engineering standards, delivery capability and accountability
• Support software compliance and engineering roadmap initiatives

Working Arrangements
