Est. A$114,380 - A$121,564 / yr
Contract type: Part time

About the team

We provide outsource finance and administrative services to a wide range of clients in varying industries including infrastructure and asset management, retail, finance and technology. While acting as the outsource finance provider we are exposed to all aspects of our client's businesses allowing us to gain valuable insight.

This role involves you managing your own client engagements, taking end-to-end ownership of client month end close, including review, issue resolution and client communication. You will also be involved in ad hoc project work like financial modelling and will lead and develop junior team members.

About the role

Our close-knit team is expanding, and we're seeking a passionate and ambitious person to come on board.

In this role, you'll collaborate closely with team members while building strong relationships with our clients.

These connections will serve as the foundation for developing your business acumen and problem-solving abilities.

This is a Senior Analyst role suited to someone ready to take ownership of complex client engagements, apply sound judgement, coach junior team members, and operate confidently in an outsourced finance environment with competing priorities.

Key responsibilities

  • Preparation and review of monthly management accounts, including balance sheet integrity, reconciliation and variance analysis and client commentary.
  • Prepare and review annual financial statements and income tax returns in accordance with relevant legislation and professional standards
  • Assistance with analysis, interpretation and communication of financial results, including the use of proprietary software applications.
  • Identifying and working through accounting and tax issues, including the ability to prepare or contribute to technical position papers and tax calculations where required.
  • Ability to support financial modelling, preparation of 3-way financial budgets, reforecasts and cash flow forecast, as needed
  • Reviewing and coaching junior team members, providing constructive feedback, and taking accountability for output quality.
  • Applying professional judgement to identify and prioritise accounting and reporting issues, investigate root causes, articulate implications to clients, and attempt resolution before escalating where appropriate.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships, acting as a trusted point of contact and managing client expectations.

Who we're after

Here are the some of the key qualifications, skills and personal attributes we're looking for. If you tick most of the boxes, but not all - that's ok! We'd still love for you to apply.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Accounting, or something similar. You have also completed, or are currently studying towards your CA or CPA.
  • Demonstrated experience in a finance, professional services, or relevant industry role, with responsibility for managing month‑end processes, management reporting and income tax.
  • Experience with common accounting systems (e.g. Xero, NetSuite, MYOB Advanced) and strong Excel skills; exposure to other systems is advantageous but not essential.
  • Ability to manage client engagements independently, including planning work, resolving issues, and delivering outcomes with limited supervision.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the curiosity to investigate issues, understand root causes, and propose solutions rather than defaulting to escalation.
  • Experience reviewing work prepared by others and providing constructive feedback, with a willingness to coach and develop junior team members.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence engaging directly with clients.
