The Opportunity

• Location: Melbourne

About You

You are a seasoned commercial lawyer with a minimum of 8 years' experience, bringing a strong track record from private practice or in-house roles within large organisations.

Your Experience & Expertise

• Experience as a commercial litigation lawyer or as a general commercial lawyer with experience or exposure to managing contentious matters
• Some experience with franchising arrangements, franchise agreements, franchise disputes or related regulatory issues would be advantageous
• Ability to assess legal risk in commercial disputes and provide practical, business-focused advice
• Ability to review, interpret and apply contractual rights and obligations in a practical business context

Your Skills & Attributes

• Strong legal judgement and the ability to identify key risks quickly
• Confidence dealing with senior internal stakeholders and external legal advisers
• Commercial acumen and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving
• Proactive, responsive and solutions-focused working style
• Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced in-house environment and ability to hit the ground running

Requirements

• Current Australian practising certificate
• Right to live and work in Australia
