Senior Project Engineer

Perth Based | Casual | Major Pilbara Project

Georgiou is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer / Project Engineer to join our Engineering team in Perth, supporting the delivery of our newly awarded Mesa J TSF8 Central Dividing Embankment Project for Rio Tinto near Pannawonica in Western Australia’s Pilbara.

This is a Perth-based casual role for an initial period of at least three months, with the potential for further opportunities across Georgiou following the initial assignment.

While this position is not FIFO, previous experience working on FIFO projects within the Pilbara is essential. We are looking for an engineer who understands the demands of remote civil construction and can use that experience to support the project team from Perth as the project moves through mobilisation and delivery.

What You’ll Do

Working closely with the Project Manager and broader project team, you will provide engineering, technical and project support across the delivery of the works.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Provide technical and engineering support across project activities
• Assist with planning, programming and coordination of construction works
• Review drawings, specifications, scopes and technical documentation
• Manage RFIs, technical queries and engineering documentation
• Support procurement activities and subcontractor engagement
• Coordinate with site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and project stakeholders
• Support quality requirements, including ITPs, inspections and QA/QC documentation
• Assist with cost control, forecasting, reporting and project performance
• Identify technical, constructability and delivery risks and assist in developing practical solutions
• Ensure works are delivered in accordance with project specifications, client requirements and Georgiou standards
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality and successful project delivery

What You’ll Bring

• Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Previous experience as a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer within civil construction
• Previous FIFO/Pilbara project experience is essential
• Strong experience across civil construction and earthworks
• Experience on mining infrastructure, bulk earthworks, embankment or tailings projects will be highly regarded
• Strong understanding of construction methodology, technical documentation and quality requirements
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple project activities and priorities
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• A practical, solutions-focused approach to engineering and project delivery
• Previous Rio Tinto project experience will be highly regarded
