About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our Information Technology team. In this role, you will provide advanced technical support and lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of Iluka's network infrastructure across our operations.

You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of critical network services that support our business. This is a permanent Perth-based role with occasional travel to other Iluka sites.

Key responsibilities include

  • Design, implement and support network infrastructure, including routing, switching, firewall and wireless network technologies
  • Configure, maintain and troubleshoot network devices and connectivity services to ensure reliable and secure operations
  • Monitor network performance, availability and capacity, proactively identifying and resolving issues
  • Collaborate with internal IT teams, vendors and stakeholders to deliver infrastructure solutions and project outcomes
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, automation and service delivery
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and ensure compliance with network standards and processes

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in network engineering, implementation and support
  • Strong knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls and wireless networking technologies
  • Experience with WAN, MPLS, Satellite, LTE and Internet services
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong documentation ethic
  • Knowledge of network security, capacity planning and availability management
  • Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and change management processes
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a customer-focused mindset
  • Experience with Cisco, Aruba and Palo Alto technologies, with appropriate certifications or course completion certificates well regarded
