About the Role

This role is responsible for delivering retention and growth targets across WA. The primary purpose of the position is to retain and grow the number of members and policy holders within defined geographic regions, market segments and product areas. Working as part of the Growth team, you will build strong relationships across the healthcare sector, identify new business opportunities, and establish a strong market presence to support member retention, cross-sell opportunities and sustainable business growth.

Key Accountabilities

Build presence and profile across target segments

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key practices, hospitals, colleges, societies and associations.
  • Build a sustainable sales pipeline by identifying and engaging prospective members across allocated specialties.
  • Execute national growth initiatives and campaigns, tailoring activities to local market needs.
  • Attend industry events and meetings to increase awareness of Avant and generate new opportunities.

Deliver growth targets and create new business opportunities

  • Achieve individual sales and retention targets through proactive member engagement and business development activities.
  • Identify and convert new business opportunities across Avant's products and services.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leaders, CEOs and Board members.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in line with Avant's policies, procedures and compliance requirements.

Represent Avant in the market

  • Promote the Avant brand and value proposition through industry engagement and networking.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of local events and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Develop relationships that support Avant's strategic and commercial objectives.

Provide market intelligence and insights

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities within local geographies.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to support retention, growth and business development strategies.
  • Adapt local activities in response to changing market conditions and risks.

Contribute to team success

  • Share knowledge, insights and best practice across the Business Development and Growth teams.
  • Support a collaborative, positive and high-performing team culture.
  • Participate in training and development initiatives while demonstrating professionalism and attention to detail.

Key Capabilities

  • Understanding of the medical industry and/or insurance sector, with experience in direct sales, account management or membership services highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated success in business development, sales or membership growth, ideally within the medical, insurance, healthcare, pharmaceutical, professional services or financial services sectors.
  • Strong relationship-building, stakeholder management and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence decision-makers and develop professional networks.
  • Proficiency with CRM
  • Commercially minded with the ability to identify opportunities, analyse market trends and drive growth outcomes.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and present effectively across a range of audiences.
  • Self-motivated, organised and collaborative, with strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to achieving results.
