DevOps Engineer

DevOps Engineer | AWS | Terraform

Our Client is a growing Australian technology company building operational software for the mining, engineering and heavy industry sectors.

They're looking for a hands-on DevOps Engineer to take ownership of cloud infrastructure, automation, security and reliability.

Salary: $120K-$140k base + super

Location: Melbourne preferred | Remote anywhere in Australia

Working: 3 days/week at 696 Bourke St, Melbourne, or fully remote

Employment: Permanent, full-time

Start: ASAP

What you'll be doing

• Manage and improve AWS cloud infrastructure
• Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines
• Identify opportunities to optimise AWS costs
• Strengthen cloud security and support ISO 27001 initiatives
• Manage containerised workloads using Docker and AWS ECS
• Own monitoring, alerting and incident response
• Automate repetitive processes and improve developer workflows
• Work closely with Engineering, Product and Delivery teams
• Support the development team with day-to-day infrastructure requirements

What we're looking for

• Strong hands-on AWS experience in production environments
• Proven Terraform / Infrastructure as Code experience
• A proactive approach to cloud cost optimisation and security
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Strong scripting skills — Python, Bash or similar
• Experience with Docker and ECS
• Someone who takes ownership and proactively solves problems
• A positive, collaborative approach to working within a small team

Nice to have

• Infrastructure/application monitoring and logging experience
• Exposure to Ruby on Rails
• Experience supporting enterprise customers
• Experience working within a distributed engineering team

The team

You'll be joining a technology team of:

• 7 Engineers
• 1 Engineering Manager
• 1 Product Manager
• 1 Tech Support
• 1 Product Delivery Lead

The role reports to the Engineering Manager, with a secondary reporting line to the Product Delivery Lead.
